Captain’s log:
It has been a tumultuous time for University of Limerick and colleges across the country. The people in charge must decide if third level education will be postponed, cancelled or changed for the safety of all the students and staff. Some of the lecturers are ahead of the game and have decided to begin moving their classes to the online spectrum using videos uploaded to the assignments site. This has been a little hard for me to adjust to.

As a young person who has a moderate to strong understanding of technology it shouldn’t be so hard for me to learn to use this site, but it seems to be. Times like this make me believe that I was born 10 years too late, mentally not physically. I wish that I was able to fully comprehend and take in some of the great moments of this millennium such as:
- The 2006 football World Cup (my favourite in recent years)
- Music by MCR, West Life and Take That
- Golden television like ‘the US Office’ and ‘the Simpsons’ in their prime
- Fashion that was much more comfortable and not as essential to fit in

I know that I should be happy to have grown up in the wave of a new technological revolution led by Apple and Tesla but really it has never been my thing. I prefer the times I didn’t have a phone and was forced to talk or sit awkwardly while I waited for my mam to collect me from training and I have never felt like taking pictures when I go anywhere with plans to share them later.
So, I will continue to struggle with the college website in hopes that soon we will be back in our classrooms talking face to face.
