Day 5 in Isolation:
A tumultuous time has come upon us and we are all in varying amounts of doubt and fear. Is Doomsday upon us? Will life ever go back to normal? Do we still have to do our assignments? The immense doubt has left students around the country with fear for their education and safety. This is not the right way of thinking as a intellectual once said:
“Fear leads to anger; anger leads to hate and hate leads to SUFFERING” – Yoda
I hate noticed this anger in my classroom circle and I hope it doesn’t lead to anything more. My colleagues in the journalism department are struggling to come to terms with online classes and trying to carry out personal interviews in a quarantined country. While they prepare passive aggressive emails towards the lecturers, I feel we should just carry on with what we have. The interviews can be done over the phone and many of the students didn’t show up to class and now that they can’t anyway, they complain.
As I say these things, my classmates are preparing their pitchforks and torches and so, for my own safety, I will choose to keep my opinions to myself. I can not overpower the anger that is this Lynch Mob but hopefully they do not cause too much suffering.
